SCHOOL is back in session for many children across the country, and a popular essential item is catching parents’ attention at Dollar Tree.
The item is a perfect back-to-school complement for those students who have already resumed classes or are about to do so.
Offered with stitching in four different colors, the discount retailer Transparent backpack it’s flying off the shelves for just $5.
Children can choose between red, pink, light blue or black for the stitching, and the body of the backpack is made of malleable transparent plastic.
The backpack measurements are 16 inches tall by 5 inches wide and 11.4 inches long.
The Transparent Backpack has several pockets for larger and smaller items such as notebooks, binders, pencils and pens, among other materials.
Dollar Tree’s offering competes directly with Amazon.
The e-commerce giant offers almost the same item, the Trail Maker Clear Backpack Heavy Duty, for $12.99.
This is also 24% off for a limited time from the original price of $16.99.
Still, Dollar Tree shoppers would save about $8 on a great deal compared to Amazon.
MORE CUSTOMIZATION
Amazon, however, offers more colors for the clear backpack, unlike Dollar Tree.
Customers willing to pay $12.99 can also purchase the item with dark blue, coral, gray, green, navy or purple stitching.
They can also upgrade for about an additional $10 to make the Trail Maker Clear Backpack Heavy Duty a pack with a small clear lunch bag with the same color stitching to match the backpack.
The backpack earned an overall rating of 4.3 out of five stars from more than 12,900 Amazon shoppers.
Still, Dollar Tree caught the attention of many shoppers this summer, drawing them away from competitors like Amazon and other prominent retailers for lower prices with dupe products of sought-after items.
DUPES FOR DAYS
Another back-to-school dupe caught shoppers’ attention as it looked almost identical to a Disney item but was offered for 25% less.

Dollar Tree also made waves last year because of some changes that didn’t sit well with shoppers.
It was confirmed in April that around 1,000 stores would close, the majority being Family Dollar stores, and around 30 Dollar Tree stores.
Executives also confirmed in the spring that the maximum price for merchandise would increase from $5 to $7.
