ROSEANNE Barr defended National Anthem singer Ingrid Andress after her viral Home Run Derby performance.
The singer addressed her critics on social media on Tuesday, revealing that she was heading to rehab to seek treatment.
Rosenne, 71 years old, came to Ingrid’s defense in an interview with TMZ.
The controversial comedian, who was criticized for her poor performance of the National Anthem many years earlier, claimed the song is the “hardest in the world” to perform.
She also told TMZ that she felt Ingrid’s performance was great, noting that it wasn’t as bad as her performance.
Roseanne sang the National Anthem during a baseball game, shouting the lyrics in a choked voice while covering her ears.
Boos burst out of the audience before she grabbed her crotch, spat on the floor and walked away.
The performance was condemned by many, including then-President George HW Bush.
INGRID PERFORMANCE
Ingrid took the field Monday night in Arlington, Texas, to sing the National Anthem during the Home Run Derby.
The players were on the field with her, many holding their hats over their hearts.
While many managed to keep a straight face, some struggled and were caught laughing as Ingrid struggled to sing the song.
After the country singer broke up, X – formerly Twitter, was flooded with harsh criticism of her singing.
“Who actually pays for her music and to go see her??” one critic asked.
A second social media user scoffed: “This is what a Grammy nominee made by Auto-Tune without Auto-Tune or musical accompaniment sounds like.”
“My ears are bleeding,” said a third.
“It looks like she didn’t know the lyrics,” reacted a fourth commenter.
A fifth review based, “The worst National Anthem I’ve ever heard.”
“They’re just nominating anyone for the Grammys, huh,” said a sixth critical commenter.
Another person confessed: “I was embarrassed by her.”
INGRID REACTS
On Tuesday morning, the Michigan native confessed to being drunk during her performance.
“I’m not going to lie to you, I was drunk last night,” she wrote in an Instagram post on Tuesday.
The 32-year-old admitted she planned to check into rehab for treatment.
“That wasn’t me last night,” she continued.
“I apologize to MLB, all the fans and this country I love so much for this version.”
She added that she would tell her supporters “what rehab is like,” joking that she heard “it’s super fun.”
The post generated mixed reactions, with some supporters praising her for taking responsibility and others less convinced.
“You are the owner, now you are taking responsibility. Here’s to overcoming!” one person wrote.

“I’m sending you love, Ingrid. Being so open requires a lot. You can. Hang in there,” wrote a second.
Others continued to mock the star, criticizing her for the wording of her post.
“To say that rehab is super fun is ridiculous. It seems like you are making a joke about something that is very serious to others”, criticized someone.
“It seems like a strange way to go overboard and try to receive some kind of false validation, the joke at the end loses all sense of credibility of the previous statements,” replied a second.
