DAYS of Our Lives has recast a fan-favorite character, ending months of speculation about AnnaLynne McCord’s role on the soap.
Days of Our Lives confirmed that AnnaLynne, 37, was joining the show last December, when it was reported that she had signed a one-year deal with the Peacock show.
Her role was kept under wraps until Wednesday night’s episode, when the 90210 alum revived fan-favorite character Abigail DiMera on the long-running series.
Investigative journalist Abby is the daughter of Jack and Jennifer Deveraux (played by Matthew Ashford and Melissa Reeves) and wife of Chad DiMera (played by Billy Flynn).
Abby was “presumed dead” after drug dealer Clyde Weston (James Read) confessed to her murder on the show in 2022.
A DNA test finally confirmed the identity of AnnaLynne’s “Jane Doe” character as Abby during the Aug. 14 episode, nearly eight months after she officially joined the cast.

She was first introduced to viewers as someone who had plastic surgery and suffered from amnesia in a soap opera storyline, before the DNA test results were revealed.
Although Chad and his family are thrilled to be reunited with Abby, her memories of them have been erased as she confesses that she has no idea who they are.
“I don’t know you – none of you!” Abby told them dramatically. “I don’t feel like I belong here. None of this makes sense to me.”
Abby was previously played by actresses Marci Miller from 2016 to 2022, Kate Mansi from 2011 to 2016, and Ashley Benson from 2004 to 2007.
In December, Deadline reported that AnnaLynne has signed a one-year deal with Days of Our Lives to play a new character named Marin, described as a “fascinating and complicated woman.”
Strikingly beautiful, Marin is “the desire of many, but her heart belongs to just one man who continues to push her away for her own good,” the outlet reported.
AnnaLynne previously teased her role on Days of Our Lives after the actress shared a video from set in February.
In the clip posted to her Instagram Stories, AnnaLynne was seen walking down a hallway while speaking to the camera.
“I’m not going to lie, it’s giving Naomi vibes,” she said, referring to Naomi Clark, her character on The CW’s 90210 who catapulted AnnaLynne into the spotlight.
AnnaLynne played the role from 2008 to 2013, after starring as Eden Lord on Nip/Tuck from 2007 to 2009.
