A mum has revealed she bought her daughter a designer handbag because she was “showing signs of needing one”.
The mother took her two children to Harrods in London with her husband, who likes to “spoil” his children.
The mother, who goes by the name @foxyrisi on TikTok, shared a video of her shopping trip on her social media page and it has since gone viral with over 1.2 million views.
Narrating in the video, she said: “We wanted something classic, timeless, something she could wear all the time.
“So we decided to stop at Fendi first and take a look at what they had.”
The mother, who looked for designers like Dolce & Gabbana and Fendi, looked for bags with a crossbody strap which was “essential”.
These bags can range from £300 and go up to around £3,000.
They decided to buy a Fendi bag in a classic style, since their daughter has “some shoes in that style and she has some boots in that style.”
She then revealed that her “husband really wants to spoil” their daughter because she is starting to become “very feminine” and is showing an interest in “princessy things.”
And the shopping trip didn’t stop there.
They then went to the toy section and bought their son a set of tattoos and nail art for their daughter.
Speaking about her son, she said: “He will never go to Harrods and he won’t buy toys. He demands. He knows where to go.”
The parents then went looking for more shoes for their daughter.
She says: “Then I saw these Dior shoes and I thought they were beautiful. It works well with bombs.”
The family then went to Burberry to buy a cardigan for the husband’s friend’s daughter as a first birthday present.
However, when it came to buying any item they could as “the kids won’t allow it”.
The video attracted a lot of attention, with many rushing to the comments section to share their thoughts.
One wrote: “It’s ridiculous. children with Fendi bags.
“This money could be donated to help people in need, instead of this crazy consumerism.”
‘It’s not worth it’
By fabulous senior writer Sarah Bull, who is son and daughter
My daughter loves a bag.
In fact, it would be difficult to find a girl who didn’t.
But would I ever spend £2,000 on a designer one for her?
Even if I had the money to do this, I think it’s a complete waste of money.
For one thing, she doesn’t know what “designer” things are – and she’s six years old. So a two year old wouldn’t have a clue.
And on the other hand, they only play with it for a few weeks before moving on to their next obsession.
So I’d rather spend ten dollars on a cute rainbow bag from Claire’s than spend thousands on a Fendi.
It’s simply not worth it.
To wish, the mother replied: “You know what’s sad about you.. you hate rich people.. but it’s the same RICH person who gave you a job to pay your bills. What a joke!
Another added: “Your babies are fashionistas.”
A third wrote: “A vibe!!! see this is why I’m working hard, me and my daughter must drip! Teach them luxury from an early age.”
The mother replied: “Others disagree, can’t a girl just live her life?”
