DONALD Trump was “very relaxed” during his conversation with Elon Musk, leading to his mysterious new “lisp”, a leading speech expert claims.

Political presentation coach Graham Davies – who helped mentor former UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak – broke down the strange vocal tic that Trump seemed to develop during his conversation with Boss X.

Davis told The Sun that the Republican needs to be “extremely careful” when entering the next a few months of debates to ensure that slurred speech does not become a hallmark of his campaign.

On Monday night, Trump and his new friend Musk spoke in an X Spaces chat as the former president fired barbs at his two political rivals, Joe Biden, and the new Democratic candidate, Kamala Harris.

In the two-hour talk, he also addressed the frightening assassination attempt on his life last month.

And he dove into war in Ukraineits diplomatic relations with global despots and immigration policies.

But the friendly interview was overshadowed when listeners noticed a disconcerting “lisp” coming from Trump.

His campaign tried to dismiss it and others speculated about audio problems – but veteran political speech expert Mr Davies had another theory, that Trump was simply “too relaxed”.

Political presentation coach Graham Davies, who worked with now-deposed UK Prime Minister Mr Sunak as he reached number 10, noticed a strange verbal tic within seconds.

Davies says it may have been because Trump had a trusted Musk as his interviewer – with the normally energetic and spiky Donald feeling relaxed as if he were around a dear friend.

He told The Sun: “This was a conversation between Donald Trump and one of his best friends, his biggest fan and his most powerful supporter.

“It doesn’t really bring out the best in Trump because it allowed him to ramble all over the place and relax a little too much.

“And when he relaxes his voice, he always relaxes too.

“And that, I believe, is the main factor in the way a kind of insult appeared in some of his words.”

It wasn’t the right forum for him. He allowed himself to just talk and ramble and that meant he relaxed too much

Davies, who has decades of experience in public speaking, says big voices like politicians tend to perform best on the biggest, toughest stages.

The trainer, who has also worked with Boris Johnson and Sajid Javid, says casual conversations can often bring out certain tendencies in people – such as verbal tics.

Trump has a long history of giving passionate speeches at his rallies where he speaks with a strong and clear tone.

But during Monday’s chat, his powerful voice seemed to disappear as he rambled on the phone alongside his advisers.

Donald Trump’s ‘impromptu’ interview with Elon Musk finally begins after ‘breaking X Spaces’ in chaotic build

Davies continued: “It wasn’t the right forum for him.

“He allowed himself to just talk and ramble and that meant he relaxed too much.

“He really needs to make sure he’s not just mentally focused, but also physically focused on the way the words come out.

“As he wasn’t as focused, they left in a somewhat dragged out fashion.”

Social media users were quick to attack the Republican and discuss his apparent speech impediment, sharing clips and comments.

Some of the most obvious moments were when the presidential candidate used words starting or ending with “s”, such as “she” or “million”.

The strange inflection also came when he labeled his political enemy Kamala Harris as “incompetent.”

After being questioned by social media sleuths about his voice, the Trump campaign was quick to respond to concerns, telling the Daily Beast“It must be your ears.”

Trump’s audio also raised concerns that he could be facing health issues similar to those of current President Joe Biden.

Biden was kicked out of the race after being overtaken by Trump during their first – and only – debate.

The 81-year-old sometimes appeared confused and mumbled during his verbal battle with the much more agile Trump.

This sparked months of doubts about his cognitive ability – and brought his campaign to a dramatic end, with him quickly dropping out and being replaced by Harris.

But now – the tables are turned, and Trump, 78, faces a much younger rival – with Kamala just 59.

Davies said: “Now that Joe Biden has retired from race Donald Trump is the oldest candidate.

“He must be sure that nothing he says, or the way he says it, can influence and encourage the narrative that he is going into cognitive decline.

“This is an aspect he must be very careful about from now on.”

Insiders speculated that Republicans were caught off guard by Biden’s decision to drop out after months of war games to oust Joe.

And now they’re having to deal with a very different opponent: Harris and her vice presidential pick, Tim Walz.

Trump was described as a “wounded animal lashing out in all directions” in the chat.

With him repeating his biggest hits, from attacking Biden to commenting on Harris’ appearance.

Davies warned that “Trump’s rambling won’t work against someone as focused as Kamala Harris.”

He must be sure that nothing he says, or the way he says it, can influence and encourage the narrative that he is entering cognitive decline.

Listeners also speculated that the unusual speech pattern was due to an audio problem with the microphones.

Some noted that Elon also suffered at times from technical issues and this was just one of many issues before and during the chat.

The friendly interview was plunged into chaos before it even began with frantic X users reporting blank screens and notifications that said “Spaces Not Available” as they tried to join the stream.

It is estimated that 28,000 X users were affected by the “crash”.

After 40 minutes of struggle, Musk admitted that the cause of the problem was a “massive DDOS attack” when the chat started.

Distributed denial of service (DDOS) is a cyber attack in which hackers flood a server with Internet traffic to prevent users from accessing connected online services and websites, for example. Fortune.

Broadcast expert Susan Bookbinder also told The Sun that the interview was an attempt to drum up support for Trump’s political campaign.

She said Trump will try to “regain” support after a seemingly successful campaign by Kamala Harris on social media.

“Musk is trying to reinvigorate his social media platform, X, as it loses the battle for Gen Z users,” she said.

Donald Trump and Elon Musk’s complicated relationship

Former President Donald Trump and Telsla CEO Elon Musk’s relationship got off to a rocky start, but the two have since reconciled, with Musk fully endorsing Trump and interviewing him on X Spaces on August 12.

In 2022, Elon Musk and Donald Trump publicly feuded on X, then still known as Twitter.

Trump called Musk a liar and a “bullfighter” during a rally in Alaska.

“Elon is not going to buy Twitter,” Trump said at the time.

“You know, he said the other day, ‘I’ve never voted for a Republican.’ I said, ‘I didn’t know that – you told me you voted for me, so he’s another idiot artist, but he’s not going to believe that.’

In response to Trump’s criticism, the SpaceX founder responded back.

“I don’t hate this man, but it’s time for Trump to hang up his hat and sail off into the sunset,” Musk posted.

Musk also bought X months later.

The X owner said he had previously voted mostly Democratic since becoming a U.S. citizen in 2002.

However, when the 2024 elections arrived, he supported Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, Trump’s rival.

“My preference for the 2024 presidency is someone sensible and centrist,” Musk wrote on X in 2022.

“I expected this to happen [be] the case for the Biden administration, but we are disappointed so far.”

His change in political parties can be attributed to his falling relationship with President Joe Biden, who did not invite Musk to the 2021 White House electric vehicle summit.

Despite past problems, Trump and Musk’s relationship changed in March after they met at Mar-a-Lago.

Trump was also previously against electric vehicles, but has since changed his stance.

“I’m for electric cars,” he said at a rally earlier this month.

“I have to be, because Elon supported me so strongly. So I have no choice.”

Following the assassination attempt at Trump’s rally in July, Musk announced his support for the former president.

“I fully support President Trump and hope for his speedy recovery,” Musk wrote on X after the shooting.

During a recent press conference, Trump praised Musk.

“I respect Elon a lot. He respects me,” he said.

“Elon, more than anyone I know, he loves this country. He loves the concept of this country, but like me, he says this country is in big trouble, it’s in tremendous danger.”

The conversation came after the SpaceX founder supported Trump in the 2024 election following an assassination attempt at his rally in Pennsylvania on July 13.

Trump was grazed in the ear by a bullet fired by a sniper Thomas Crookswho was later shot to death by the Secret Service.

Bullets from Crook’s gun too killed a participant and left two others seriously injured.

Although the pair had a difficult relationshipMusk shared that he would “fully support President Trump” this year.

Social media consultant Matt Navarra spoke to The US Sun about this emerging relationship between Trump and Musk.

He called it a “marriage of convenience.”

“I think Trump needs the audience and engagement that X can provide from the distribution and reach that X gives him,” Navarra said.

“And I think Musk wants to make sure he aligns himself with the potential winning candidate in the next presidential election.”
