AN American water park has revealed a new ride that will leave thrill-seekers screaming.
The water roller coaster and raft hybrid set to be unveiled at the popular park will take riders on a journey with many ups and downs.
MAKING A SPLASH
Soak Island City, a water park on Kings Island, Ohio, announced it is opening the state’s first dual-race water coaster, called RiverRacers, in 2025, according to Fox19 now.
Part roller coaster and part waterslide, the ride offers visitors two experiences in one.
The attraction will be powered by gravity and water jets.
With side-by-side rafts falling at speeds of up to 30 miles per hour, the ride is not for the faint of heart.
And that’s just the beginning – riders will be propelled up the hill by the water jets.
There is a lot more splashing as you continue through the rest of the course.
As the water jets send the riders upward, they separate into split curves, mirroring each other.
An enclosed tunnel takes passengers through the darkness, special lighting effects and all.
Riders will find that the ride has many twists and turns as they are forced to use a “high-incline slingshot.”
They will be thrown around 180 degrees until the nail-biting big finale – the final mega drop.
The first place winner will then be revealed.
“Whether you are new to water slides or an experienced thrill seeker, Soak City offers the greatest outdoor water park experience in Ohio,” said Mike Koontz, vice president of Kings Island.
He said the new water roller coaster was made for the whole family to enjoy.
CHILDREN’S PLAY
Children will also be able to cool off in a new play area that will feature seven water slides, called Salamander Sliders.
It will be located in the designated riverside-themed children’s play area, Splash River Junction.
Youngsters of all ages will enjoy slides that offer gentle drops, drops and curves.
In addition to the Bluegill Lagoon, a new version of an old-fashioned “swimming pool” with its own water tower, hundreds of new loungers and chairs will offer guests the opportunity to escape to some shade.
If you’re ready for some fun, guests can purchase season passes, which cost $120 and provide access to the park for the rest of the year and through 2025.
Visitors will enjoy many benefits, as well as free parking.
If you purchase one by August 18th, you will receive five free SingleUse Fast Lanes to use on select dates in 2024.
