AMERICANS won’t need to cross the ocean to have an Italian experience.
A US water park is complete with themed attractions, including its own ‘Leaning Tower of Pisa’.
DelGrosso Park and Laguna Splash is located in Tipton, Pennsylvania, far from Bel Paese.
However, that doesn’t stop the abundance of Italian-themed rides and attractions.
According to the park, it was built on the Bland Family Farm by Fred DelGrosso and his wife Mafalda.
Although it was purchased by the DelGrossos in 1946, it was called Bland’s Park until 2000.
WHAT TO DO
The water park offers several family fun options, including activities of all levels of excitement.
The Leaning Tower of Pisa is located in the Bambini Cove section of the park.
It includes a replica of the infamous landmark, with water dripping from the top into a shallow pool.
Located near the Leaning Tower of Pisa, the Latium River takes park visitors down a 400-meter-long stream while riding a floating tube.
There is also Wave Oceano, a wave pool that goes from zero to two meters deep.
The alternating waves create a “surfing environment” according to the theme park.
For those looking for a more dramatic way to cool off, there is the Roman Splash Bucket.
A bucket-shaped structure suspended in the air sprays a whopping 450 gallons of water onto park-goers every two and a half minutes.
There are also cabin rentals available, which include several amenities such as lounge chairs and free Wi-Fi.
FAN FAVORITE
The park doesn’t skimp on drinks, with a variety of restaurants to choose from.
There are establishments with an Italian theme, such as Pappy Fred’s Pizzeria.
There are also classic theme park restaurants at Midway Treats, like funnel cake and cotton candy.
Murf’s Kitchen also serves some crowd-pleasing dishes like burgers and hot dogs.
Several fans expressed their love for the water park on DelGrosso’s official Instagram page.
“I go to Delgrosso whenever I can,” wrote one of them in a photo of the park’s lifeguards on Lifeguard Appreciation Day.
“I absolutely love the lifeguards. Thank you for keeping us safe.”
